We are looking for capable, innovative, and enthusiastic achievers to join our team and grow with us. We are currently seeking an EHS/PSM Specialist III our site in Calvert City, KY.
What you will do:
The EHS/PSM Specialist III is responsible for facilitating environmental, health, and safety within the organization as well as coordination of site wide PSM activities, driving Process Safety performance improvement, and ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, Local, and Corporate EHS policies and standards.
Represent EHS on projects reviews to identify and resolve regulatory issues, analyze process and property hazards, and establish protective measures to mitigate safety risks to a tolerable level. Oversee PSM related information systems and databases, including providing regulatory interpretations, developing written site programs and standards, tracking PSM metrics, and facilitating site training. Facilitate Process Hazard Analysis and Dust Hazard Analysis, manage the site schedule, and maintain all documentation. Review PSM documentation and interface with site operations and leadership to upgrade and administer essential program elements. Assist with the management of MOC program and analyze all MOCs for EHSS impacts. Participate in and lead Incident Investigations, especially those associated with Wacker Process Safety Incidents (WPSI) and High Potential Events (HPE)and serve as site administrator for incident tracking database (SPIRIT). Leads/participates in various internal/external audits including but not limited to: Internal Integrated Management System (IMS), PSM Compliance Audit, Compliance Audit, Loss Control, Business Process, etc. Develop, maintain, and improve EHS plans, procedures, and training systems as necessary to ensure ongoing compliance. Serve as the PSSR (Pre-Startup Safety Review) Scoping Tool developer/expert. Facilitate Safety Instrumented System (SIS) Classification Risk Graph (Safety Requirement Specifications) completion based on PHA/DHA scenarios as requested. Manage internal chemicals including new chemical review and approval, PPE assessments, occupational health hazards ingredient check and SDS document management. Participate in hazardous area (electrical) classification reviews and assist with completion of Explosion Protection Checklists. Assist with the management of site IMS programs to ensure compliance with RC 14001/ISO 45001. Audit EHS programs for compliance and effectiveness. Collaborate with WCC and Polymers EHS representatives in developing and implementing best practices. Develop and deliver EHS training (New Hire, Refresher, Monthly Safety Meetings, Safety Day). Support and advise operations, maintenance, and engineering in the area of EHS on an as needed basis, including nights and weekends. Conduct Job Safety Analysis to define and improve controls and PPE necessary for the task.
What we need from you:
B.S. /B.A. degree in Engineering, Environmental, Chemistry, Natural Sciences or Occupational Safety and Health. Experience may be considered in lieu of formal education. 5 or more years’ of EHS experience 3 or more years’ of PSM experience. Certified PHA Facilitator, Certified ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor Understanding of applicable computer systems such as MS Office (including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.) Ability to read, comprehend, and apply complex regulations and permit terms/conditions and convey these requirements to site personnel verbally and in writing. Experience in PSM, RMP, OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ISO 14001/45001 requirements Ability to create training material and effectively conduct employee training. Demonstrated problem solving skills. Ability to work cooperatively with plant, corporate and regulatory personnel at all levels. Ability to represent company at community meetings. Highly developed communication skills – both written and verbal Excellent organizational skills Ability to facilitate troubleshooting efforts and team meetings. Ability to run several projects and programs concurrently. Ability to lead and facilitate PHA and DHA as well as training others to become PHA/DHA leaders. Ability to read and comprehend Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Solid comprehension of chemical processes and unit operations Ability to serve as the OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) subject matter expertise for the site including knowledge of the following topics: Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR), and Recognized and Generally Accepted Good Engineering Practices (RAGAGEPs). Represent the site at various company and public meetings if needed. Work with other site and complex tenants with regards to EHS matters. Be available to assist with EHS issues that arise during “off business” hours. Ability to obtain various EHS certifications and credentials, which may include but is not limited to: RCRA Hazardous Waste Management, Method 9 Visible Emissions, DOT Hazardous Materials Ground Shipper, TWIC Card, Certified PHA Facilitator, Certified ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor, GSP/ASP/CSP or other.
