EHS Site Lead [F/M/X]

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Site Lead for a leading company in the biotechnology sector. In this role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the organization’s EHS policies, ensuring that all activities comply with relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations. This strategic position involves supporting management and promoting EHS awareness throughout the organization.

 

Responsibilities:

Develop a long-term vision and EHS policies based on the company’s strategy, including setting annual plans and budgets. Identify and analyze internal and external EHS-related developments and advise on their implications for the organization. Support the implementation and execution of EHS policies, including providing solutions for issues and bottlenecks. Optimize business processes to ensure adequate management of EHS aspects. Manage EHS reports and escalate deviations that pose a business risk. Supervise EHS measures and maintain contact with relevant authorities in case of emergencies. Report on the progress of EHS policies, including risk assessments and cost-benefit analyses. Promote EHS awareness and continuously seek improvements within the organization. Conduct inspections and drills to ensure compliance with EHS guidelines. Coordinate and participate in relevant projects, working groups, and networks.

 

Requirements:

Academic-level education in a relevant field, preferably supplemented with an HVK (Safety for Operational Supervisors) certification. Proven experience in a similar role. Knowledge of safety, health, and environmental regulations. Experience with process optimization and business procedures. Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English. Proactive attitude, showing responsibility and ownership. Strong project management skills and a customer-oriented approach.
