As the EHS Specialist, you will provide administrative and technical support to regional distribution leadership in the coordination of environmental, health, and safety programs across the distribution network. Reporting operationally to the Director of Distribution centers and functionally to the Director of EHS, the EHS Specialist will create consistency across the organization relative to government compliance and Watts operating expectations.
You Will:
+ Ensure the site is observing all applicable federal, state and local regulations relative to workplace health and safety; interface with government officials.
+ Identify and fill gaps in safety and health training topics including New Hire Orientation, Radiation Safety, Powered Industrial Trucks, Fall Protection, Proper Lifting Techniques, Lock-out/Tag-out and Hazard Communication.
+ Incident investigation resulting in root cause identification and correction.
+ Collect and analyze safety and health data including first aids, safety concerns, near misses, and accidents.
+ Complete and submit any governmental reports (i.e., OSHA Log, Tier II).
+ Assist the onsite Safety Committees across the distribution network.
+ Help with emergency preparedness programs (fire drill, tornado, weather, active shooter, etc.).
+ Maintain training records and creating monthly reports along with safety presentations.
+ Support transitional return to work programs.
You Have:
+ Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience, focus on an industrial health or safety discipline, industrial engineering, or other related physical or health science.
+ Pursuing ASP (associate safety professional) or CSP (certified safety professional) or other professional certification desirable
+ 2+ years of experience with health and safety programs in an industrial, manufacturing or distribution center setting.
+ Working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations (i.e., EPCRA & Stormwater).
+ Knowledge of proper protocol for exposure/industrial hygiene monitoring.
+ Experience with environmental reporting.
+ Experience in accident investigation, analysis and corrective action planning.
+ Manage tasks/costs for EHS projects.
Travel Required: 25% (some international - Canada)
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting.
