EHS Specialist
Executes relevant EHS activities in line with clear policies and procedures at the site/EHS discipline; in order to minimise EHS risks. Entry level professional. May be working towards a professional EHS qualification e.g. NEBOSH or equivalent. Participates in small local projects.

JOB PURPOSE
•    To manage the EHS systems and fulfil the challenge of securing continuous improvement in environmental, health and safety performance, focus on health and safety.


PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

•    Collect and review Chinese EHS laws & regulations, support related department to identify the gap between current situation and the standards from laws & regulations, follow up the closure of the gaps.
•    Follow group EHS requirements, develop or update site EHS procedures according to group policy, risk assessment report, incidents, etc.
•    Familiar with occupational health management system, responsible for ISO14001/45001 audit. Support other EHS internal and external audits.
•    Make IH monitoring plan according to government and group requirements, follow-up until all closed. Carry out data analysis and the reports to group in time.
•    Conduct Health and safety training for employees and contractors.
•    Participate in EHS inspections, PTW issue and audit, LSP daily management, log the findings and keep them following up.
•    Support to get EHS permits, SIA&HIA experience are required.
•    Other tasks assigned by EHS manager
 

QUALIFICATIONS/ KNOWLEDGE/ EXPERIENCE
(TECHNICAL/ PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS COMPTENCY)
•    university degree in health, safety, environment, chemistry, metallurgy or engineering related field. 
•    Minimum 3 years work experience in EHS management in chemical or metallurgical industry companies.
•    Professional knowledge in EHS management.    

PERSONAL SKILLS & KEY COMPETENCIES
(INCLUDING JM BEHAVIOURAL COMPETENCIES)
•    Good interpersonal and communication skills.
•    Basic spoken and written English.    
•    Be enthusiastic, energetic, honest and hard work and be able to work standalone in challenging situations
•    Results oriented with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
