EHS Specialist

Job Title:  EHS Specialist

 

Job Summary:  

The EHS Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and standards at our manufacturing facility. This role involves developing, implementing, and maintaining EHS programs to promote a safe and healthy work environment

 

Responsibility

Ensure the facility complies with all relevant local, state, and federal EHS regulations. Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions. Develop and deliver EHS training programs for employees to promote awareness and safe practices. Lead investigations of EHS incidents, accidents, and near-misses, and develop reports with recommendations for prevention. Create and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs to enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship. Coordinate emergency response plans and conduct drills to ensure preparedness for potential emergencies. Oversee hazardous waste management and disposal processes to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in EHS practices and implement best practices across the facility. Prepare and submit required EHS reports and documentation to regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders

 

Academic/Educational Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field  Will consider equivalent training and experience in lieu of a degree

Required Skills/Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in EHS roles, preferably in a manufacturing environment. In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards. Ability to interface effectively with the workforce. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and training abilities. Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH, CHMM) is a plus.
