Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading building envelope solution supplier that effectively drives energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are seeking an EHS Specialist in our Chino, CA Plant.

 

Our Environmental, Safety, and Health (EHS) Specialist will be responsible for coordinating the environmental, safety and heath activities throughout the facility. This includes being directly responsible for the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of the facility safety and health, as well as their policies, and procedures.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

Oversees the safety program and initiates activities that will improve the level of safety Develop and administer safety training for all employees (including outside sales personnel, office, etc.) Conduct timely accident/incident investigations and ensure timely reporting to plant management and Regional EHS Manager Ensure that all corrective actions and recommendations of safety committee meetings are completed and communicated within established time frames Reviews and updates the safety policies and procedures in accordance with Company goals and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and guidelines. Meet WHMIS and GHS requirements and ensure SDS are current Coordinate Industrial Hygiene surveys as required (air, noise, ergonomics, etc.) Ensure that SOP/ JSA’s & LOTO procedures are completed for all new processes, materials, and equipment before use Review safety related documents and narratives such as Safety Committee minutes, inspection reports, forklift inspection checklists, accident investigation reports, and near miss reports Keep records of all employee training, corrections of unsafe conditions, and dates and results of workplace inspections. Submit necessary documentation to the corporate office for recordkeeping Maintain all weekly, monthly, and yearly safety inspections Maintain all hazardous material and hazardous material area checks Responsible for ISO 9001/14001 certifications Oversee all yearly updates to the safety program, including the Safety Manual, Injury Illness Prevention Plan, Emergency Procedures Manual, and the Emergency Contingency Plan Other duties as assigned

Required Skills/Abilities/Knowledge:

Three years proven experience in EHS, ISO, OSHA PSM, standards and regulations, manufacturing environment preferred. Bachelor’s degree required in environmental science, industrial hygiene, occupational safety, engineering, or related fields. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of provincial and federal OSHA regulations and occupational plant safety requirements. Experience with formal problem solving and root cause analysis. Ability to function in a team environment, work well with others, handles multiple priorities and projects as necessary. Strong proficiency in MS Office, Benchmark operation a plus. Basic mathematics and data analysis skills. Knowledge of CPR, BBP and First Aid.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Fast paced manufacturing environment where workers are exposed to both ambient/outside temperatures and dust; working with mechanical parts and pinch points; exposure to increased noise levels. Significant time spent on the production floor (60%). Facilitating training on other shifts occasionally required. Occasional (<25%) travel for training or support of other facilities.

Per the states Wage Transparency Act the range for this position is 65K-75K annually.  Actual salary could be greater based on education, experience and other qualifying skill sets.
