EHS Specialist
**A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)** Siemens Energy is looking for a EHS Specialist for our Gibsonton, FL location! Duties and responsibilities will focus primarily on, but not be limited to, compliance with select requirements of the environmental standards, requirements, and environmental program management procedures. Please note this position is a full-time, onsite position at our Siemens-Energy facility in Gibsonton, Florida. No remote or hybrid work opportunities are available for this position! **How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)** + Ensure compliance with key environmental regulations, including the Clean Air Act (CAA), the facility’s Air Operating Permit, Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA) (e.g., Tier 2), Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) for Large Quantity Generators and permitted TSDFs, Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), and the Clean Water Act, including stormwater and wastewater discharge permits. + Interpret, recommend, and ensure adherence to environmental regulations and company policies while providing environmental expertise for facility infrastructure projects, including management of change (MOC) procedures. + Develop, update, and maintain environmental manuals, procedures, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans to meet applicable regulatory and company standards. + Prepare and submit permit applications, modifications, and renewals while serving as the primary point of contact for interactions with federal and state environmental regulators. + Support Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance by performing risk assessments, leading incident investigations, and driving initiatives aligned with the Siemens-Energy Zero-Harm framework. + Promote and implement process improvements to ensure robust environmental and safety compliance across the facility, demonstrating technical expertise and proactive engagement with cross-functional teams. **What You Bring (requirements)** + Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field with 7+ years of experience, or an MS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related degree with 5+ years of proven experience. + Experience in industrial facilities such as casting, foundry, metals manufacturing, or chemical processing. + In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance for industrial operations. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels. + Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) at a mid-level or higher. + Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced environment. + Skilled in problem-solving, developing innovative EHS solutions, and implementing process improvements. + Professional EHS certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), Certified Environmental Professional (CEP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) are highly desirable. + Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
