Job Description Purpose To provide support to the Environmental, Health and Safety programs in compliance with all applicable regulations and AbbVie Policies in a cost effective basis and in accordance with customer expectations. Responsibilities + Implement the elements of the Chemical Process Safety Program to assure compliance with regulatory agencies and AbbVie Technical Standard. + Coordinate and conduct were applicable specialized Safety training such as: CHAP, confine space, ergonomics, hot work permit, fire extinguisher, OSHA laboratory standards, safety and industrial hygiene management system, OSHA record keeping, CPR, First Aid, Emergency Response, HAZWOPER, etc. Assist in the Safety/Health Training of personal required for the operation of these facilities. + Defines, coordinates, and implement the Industrial Hygiene Programs for AbbVie. Assure CHAP,CHP, PPE program evaluation and trainings are updated. Assure Industrial Hygiene Monitoring. Plan and ergonomic Program are established and accomplished. Assure Respiratory, Hearing, programs are updated in a regular basis. + Lead incident investigations, including Fire, Spill, and Medical incidents, by collecting inputs from various sources and promote discussion to reach agreements on appropriate actions and recommendations. + Assures coordination of Medical Surveillance Program with Infirmary. + General responsibility for the development of safety criteria to eliminate or control hazards encountered in the operation and maintenance of the Site. + Lead EHS Self Assessments and Risk Assessments by collecting inputs from various sources and promote discussion with Plant groups to reach agreements on appropriate actions and recommendations. + Provide guidance to assure compliance with Federal and local Regulations by following Plant / Divisional / Corporate Procedures and Policies. + Implement, revise, or prepare EHS Procedures and Programs to meet AbbVie Standards, Federal and Local Regulations by collecting inputs from various sources and promote discussion with Plant groups to reach agreements on appropriate actions and recommendations. + Develop recordkeeping and report generation systems as to fully support the regulatory agencies, Corporate and Division requirements with respect to compliance programs. Significant Work Activities: Frequent to continuous computer usage (greater or equal to 50% of the workday) is required Qualifications Qualifications + Bachelor Degree in Science or related field. + Six (6) years of experience managing occupational health and safety programs to assure compliance with government regulations and company policies. + Previous experience within the FDA regulated industry is highly preferred. + Background as industrial hygienist is highly desired. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.
