EHS Trainer

We are seeking a dedicated Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Trainer to join our team full-time, direct basis at our Training Center in Mechanicsburg, PA.

 

This role is pivotal in promoting workplace safety while ensuring environmental regulatory compliance by designing, implementing, and delivering comprehensive training programs. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of EHS protocols, instructional design principles, and effective communication strategies in order to educate and enhance safety culture within organizations.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

Develop Training Materials: Design and develop training materials (including presentations, manuals, and experiential modules) covering various EHS topics. Ensure training content aligns with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices. Customize Training Programs: Collaborate with internal leadership & EHS professionals to identify training needs and develop tailored solutions. Partner with clients to create customized training programs. Conduct Training Sessions: Lead training sessions for internal & external participants on a variety of topics (e.g.: Lead, Asbestos, OSHA, HAZWOPER, etc.). Utilize diverse training methods & technologies to engage participants and optimize learning outcomes. Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Assess the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, knowledge assessments, and performance evaluations. Continuously update training materials & methodologies to enhance effectiveness and address emerging safety issues. Stay Current with Regulations: Stay current on relevant EHS regulations, standards, and industry trends. Update training content & practices to reflect regulatory changes and best practices. Provide Support and Guidance: Offer guidance to employees & managers on EHS policies, procedures, and best practices. Act as a Subject Matter Expert by addressing concerns and resolving EHS-related issues. Promote safety culture: serve as a Role Model for safety behavior and promote a positive safety culture throughout the organization. Travel to client sites (as-needed). Additional tasks may be assigned, as needed.

 

 

Basic Requirements:

High School Diploma. 3+ years of professional experience working with Professional Training, Teaching, and/or EHS-related tasks.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Management, Environmental Science, EHS, Natural Science, Engineering, or Education). Relevant certification(s). Proven experience in developing & delivering EHS training programs in corporate and/or industrial settings; consulting experience is a plus! Experience in comprehensive training development: instructional design, developing curricula, and preparing instructional materials (for both in-person and virtual training). Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, EPA requirements, and other relevant standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software. Proficiency in e-learning platforms, Learning Management Systems (LMS), multimedia tools, and/or virtual training technologies. Excellent facilitation and presentation skills, especially with the engagement of diverse audiences. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships at all organizational levels. Exceptional communication skills (verbal & written).
