EKG Supervisor
**Job Description:** The ECG Supervisor is a dual role combining leadership and clinical responsibilities. The Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of ECG staff and services including oversight of clinical quality and financial performance of the department. This position also provides direct patient care. **Job Details** + **Benefits Eligible:** Yes (Health, Vision, & Dental Insurance, 401(K), education assistance, + many more) + **Shift:** Full-time, 36 hrs/wk exempt position, Monday- Friday Day Shifts, Occasional Holidays Included + **Location:** EKG, Intermountain Medical Center + **Required:** 3 years of ECG experience **Scope** Depending on location, this position reports to a Nurse Manager or CV Director. **Job Essentials** + Maintains caseload while identifying staffing needs and oversees hiring, orienting, and training new employees, providing continuing education and in-services to staff, and instructing and supervising staff members. Accountable for performance management including quarterly check-ins, coaching, corrective action, and facilitating individual development plans. + Schedules staff and ensures staffing levels necessary to meet patient volumes and perform scheduled exams. Ensures safe, quality, and timely patient care is provided within the department. + Drives a culture of caregiver engagement. + Ensures department and staff compliance with legal, accreditation, and company standards and policies. + Problem solves clinical issues and patient, staff, and physician concerns. Reaches optimal outcomes. + Uses resources effectively and manages expenses to meet financial goals of the department. Oversees or assists with managing the department budget. + Performs and assists with exams and patient care duties. Performs all duties of the ECG Technician, ECG Editor, and Holter Editor, as appropriate. + Works with the physician reading panel to prepare billing and payment and assists with training and questions on the use of the MUSE system. + Ensures staff works together to keep the MUSE edit list clean and that all patient demographic information is corrected. + Monitors staff responsibilities such as ECG response time, order attachment/billing, equipment cleaning and logs, and communicating patient test results (e.g., scanning reports, message log). + Drives team and quality improvement processes and initiatives. Looks for better ways to perform lab duties that will increase efficiency, reduce costs, and provide extraordinary patient care. + Trains staff on the use of the Ambulatory Telemetry Monitoring (ATM) system process. + Ensures equipment is available and functional. Coordinates repairs and replacement as needed. + Represents the department and ECG function in CV and to other areas of the hospital. + Participates in educational opportunities to ensure clinical competence, develop additional skills and knowledge, and improve leadership abilities. **Minimum Qualifications** + Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for Healthcare Providers. + Three years of experience in ECG. + One year of experience with Ambulatory Telemetry Monitoring. + One year of supervisory experience. **Preferred Qualifications** + Previous leadership experience in an EKG setting. **Physical Requirements:** Carrying, Hearing/Listening, Lifting, Manual Dexterity, Pulling/Pushing, Seeing, Sitting, Speaking, Squatting/Kneeling, Standing, Walking. **Location:** Intermountain Health Intermountain Medical Center **Work City:** Murray **Work State:** Utah **Scheduled Weekly Hours:** 36 The hourly range for this position is listed below.
