EKG Tech PRN Job Responsibilities 
 

Reads and translates medical terminology written by physicians for obtaining Holter monitoring results, electrocardiogram (ECG) tracings, and other related cardiac monitoring devices. Ensures proper settings on equipment to collect ECG tracings with correct patient identification such as medical record number as well as last and first name. Participates in unit initiatives and quality improvement processes while attending staff meetings and verbalizing understanding of unit initiatives. Educates patients on home instructions for Holter monitoring. Correctly applies Holter monitoring leads to ensure accurate results. Processes ECG tracings for physician interpretation, accurate record keeping, and billing. Places ECG leads on patients and clears any interference to achieve high-quality tracings. Communicates findings of abnormal ECG tracings to appropriate healthcare team members in a timely and efficient manner. May perform additional duties as assigned.
