eLearning Development Specialist
Overview Dedicated to serving those who defend the US and warfighters, Nisga’a MOSTT offers Military Operations support and Specialized Tactical Training (MOSTT). Nisga’a MOSTT’s services include aviation and military training, cybersecurity, intelligence gathering and analysis, and simulation and exercise support, as well as aviation flight logistics support and unmanned aerial vehicle support. Summary: Responsible for providing e-Learning developer services for new training and/or updating of approved web-based training courses. Interface directly with a variety of SMEs and other offices to gather material to support the development of the designed training package. Responsibilities Essential Job Functions: Produces high-quality and accurate training materials based on SME approved storyboards Maintains close communications with the team lead and customer to achieve optimum customer satisfaction Advises and provides assistance to other development specialists, management, and customers Develops proposed training materials in the selected media to accomplish the project in the most effective and efficient manner and ensures designs, layouts, and projects are produced quickly and competently to meet expedited deadlines Serves as technical expert in computer-generated SCORM compliant e-Learning content hosted and delivered through a learning management system; provides recommendations as to the imagery, modeling, animation, rendering and various other multimedia formats Performs work in graphic-user interface layouts or executing concepts in support of instructional materials in interactive courseware Requires the ability to animate and render computer-generated graphics Applies knowledge of the subject matter to be depicted in translating the subject matter into visual designs Possesses knowledge of basic principles such as color, line, form, and space to produce appropriately composed e-Learning projects Combines graphics, video, voice, and production techniques to translate concepts into finished products to deliver training materials for use on the web Utilizes a wide variety of art media, techniques, principles, and technical equipment, as well as a variety of creative software to complete finished work for publication Recommends best method of portrayal, style, and format, including order and amount of detail, based on knowledge of briefing purpose, coverage, and intended audience Develops proposed training materials based on customer inputs, including computer-generated imagery, modeling, animation, rendering and various other multimedia formats Effectively gathers information from the client on various aspects of the project, including instructional objectives, tasks to be emphasized, prior knowledge of the students, relationships to be stressed, and the relative degree of importance of the various pieces of information being disseminated Applies knowledge of current adult e-Learning concepts and techniques in order to translate the subject material into accurate and beneficial courseware Provides developmental timelines based on the various phases of assigned projects which, due to their size, scope, and priority, must be segmented and assigned to other development specialists within the organization. The contractor shall provide an updated developmental timeline within 5 business days of receiving an OPR approved storyboard (CDRL A0010). Qualifications Necessary Skills and Knowledge: Extensive knowledge and use of Joint Knowledge Online (JKO) Possesses knowledge of basic principles such as color, line, form, and space to produce appropriately composed e-Learning projects. Combines graphics, video, voice, and production techniques to translate concepts into finished products to deliver training materials for use on the web Applies knowledge of current adult e-Learning concepts and techniques in order to translate the subject material into accurate and beneficial courseware. Knowledge of adult learning principles Mastery of instructional design models Computer programming or software certificates such as Experience in LMS administration Strong project management skills Strong communication skills Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as instructional design, educational technology, computer science, or IT systems, plus at least 6 years of experience in adult learning principles, mastery of instructional design models, experience in LMS administration and a certification in ATD Instructional Design Certificate, Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPLP), Certified Instructional Designer, or Learning Experience Design Certificate OR a minimum of 10 years of experience as an eLearning developer and a certification in ATD Instructional Design Certificate, Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPLP), Certified Instructional Designer, or Learning Experience Design Certificate Preferred Qualifications: Masters degree in a relevant field, such as instructional design, educational technology, computer science, or IT systems Project Management Certification Certifications in specific eLearning authoring tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Lectora The salary range for this position is $75,000 - $80,000 annually.
