The below is a position with Weil-Mclain, a division of the Marley-Wylain Company. Weil-McLain is an industry leading manufacturer of high efficiency, condensing boilers. With a 140 year history coupled with innovation through digital solutions and climate conscious initiatives, we provide reliable comfort heating solutions for residential and commercial use.
Hourly Pay Rate: $19.50 starting rate with rate increase during first 36 months, starting in 6 month increments
Plus additional yearly rate increase every June 1st
Plus $0.40 differential per hour worked for working 3rd shift
3rd Shift: (8 hr. Shift +2 hrs mandatory) + Lunch and Breaks

ELECTRIC MELT OPERATOR
In this position you will be responsible to operate and maintain electric furnaces and all related equipment in order to produce quality Grey iron. The Electric Melt will be manned by a crew that will operate the charge make-up cranes, furnace crane, furnace and pre-heat equipment, hot metal carrier system and refractory repairs. Employees must be able to perform all essential duties associated with the melt system. Crewmembers will be rotated on jobs monthly within their shifts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES for the various skills sets:
Charge Makeup Crane & Pre-heater: Load & unload trucks, break up scrap into usable sizes, load hopper with proper ingredients & specified weights, weigh & adds alloys, operate controls for igniting & shutting off burner system, operates automatic conveyor system, records weights and monitors controls for alarms. Furnace & Crane: transfers charge bucket & empties into furnace, slag furnaces, transfer melt materials from floor to furnace deck, open & closes furnace lid, monitors controls for alarms & performs some duties associated with furnace and hot metal carrier systems. Furnace and Hot Melt Carrier: dispatches carriers, pours proper amount of iron in ladles, transfers iron to holding furnace, slag ladles and furnaces, takes iron and temperature samples and monitors controls for alarms. Refractory Repairs: repair melt furnace spout, slagline, upper lid & lid; holding furnace spout; slag door, sample door and launder door; rebuild and repair ladles as required. Prepares A-Line ladle for pouring (fill, check temperature, add chill if necessary and position for pick up. Crushes scrap materials (casting & gating) to usable size for re-melt purpose. Perform various related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Willingness to work in non-climate controlled, foundry environment Use of industrial machinery and power tools Foundry experience a plus
