Summary
This position is responsible for the safe and reliable operation of the Electric Distribution System in PSCo Colorado jurisdiction.
  
Responsibilities

EMERGENCY RESPONSE: Assess all outages and emergency situations, create and review emergency switch plans, develop service restoration and emergency response plans, and direct the implementation of the plans Document restoration data and review elements of the process for improvement opportunities.REAL TIME SYSTEM MONITORING: Monitor the Electric Distribution System using all network devices including SCADA devices, monitor all feeder loads, monitor switch plans and other computer tools.SWITCHING:  Write and direct all emergency switching plansCOMMUNICATION AND COORDINATION:  Coordination with Dispatchers regarding feeder lockouts and other activities.OVERSIGHT: Oversee and perform feeder sets, closing/reclosing and tagging as appropriate, radio and field monitoring and communication, oversee substation activities and other related activities. Situational awareness of entire Area of ResponsibilitySCADA:  Set Scada devices to wildfire settings as appropriate, monitor wildfire situation and communicate with dispatch and crews.WORKLOAD PLANNING/PRIORITIZATION: Prioritize outage, emergency response requests and non-outage service orders, and dispatch to field personnel. Coordinate scheduling and assigning work with dispatchers, substation operators, troubleman, district reps, etc. to meet workload requirements.CUSTOMER INTERACTION: Initiate and respond to key account customer telephone calls regarding outages and other service concerns. Answer fire, police, and other public authority emergency calls and respond with company resources accordingly. Communicate with internal management on effects of customer outages and emergencies as required. EFFICIENCY: Oversee work direction for efficient and effective operation of the distribution system and balance the needs for service reliability and response with cost-effective practicesProvide appropriate and thorough documentation for all aspects of operating the electric distribution system including Lock out/Tag out documentation, shift transfers, and outage restoration.


 Required

Technical requirements include demonstrated knowledge of the electric distribution system design, operation, maintenance, and performance.Education: High school diplomaExperience: 5+ years' experience as an electric transmission or electric distribution system operatorMust be able to work rotating shifts and respond to emergencies and overtime requirements.Possess excellent communication skills, verbal and written along with excellent computer skills.Able to work both alone and in a team environment under extreme workload, stress, and in all emergency situations.Must successfully pass the EEI/SOPD II test OR possess a journeyman lineman card.

Bargaining

The anticipated starting base pay for this position is: $71.09 per hour
