Electrical Analyst - ITS

Our Virginia Beach, VA office is looking for an Electrical or Civil Engineer with 1+ years of experience. This position provides an opportunity to work on a variety of aviation, transportation, and renewable projects that will ensure your success and growth in your career. Additionally, you will contribute to the design of major projects from various markets locally and around the country.

Responsibilities

• Design of communications and electrical systems for transportation (ITS), aviation, and energy (solar and EV Infrastructure) projects
• Participate on project teams in an active production role
• Preparation of project specifications
• Preparation of electrical construction cost estimates
• Daily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams
• Coordination and verification of as-built drawings
• Perform quality work that meets or exceeds client expectations
• Responsible for the development of reports and design documents, including fiber optic cable routing plans, photometric analyses, electrical floor plans, equipment schematic diagrams, equipment block diagrams, equipment load calculations, and connection diagrams

Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in consulting electrical and/or / Intelligent Transportation Systems engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Civil Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)
• EIT or ability to obtain quickly
• Firm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, and energy codes is a plus
• Proficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD) is required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office apps - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
• Building Information Modeling (BIM – Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus
• Security and communication design experience is a plus
• Experience in lighting electrical and photometric design using tools such as AGI32
• Experience in Power Studies, such as Short Circuit Study, Coordination Study, and Arc Flash Analysis (SKM PowerTools), AGI32 is a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
• The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
• The ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment
