The role

As an Electrical Designer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This role sits within our Cavendish Nuclear business, from decommissioning redundant nuclear facilities, through supporting the Continuous at Sea Deterrent, to supporting the operation and build of nuclear power plants, our role in Cavendish Nuclear is to clean up the nuclear legacy and create a world where nuclear plays a key contribution in protecting our nation, ensuring security of energy supply and meeting our net zero commitments.
 
Day to day, you’ll be responsible for creation of design solution(s) and deliverables to required standards, consistent with whole lifecycle from concept through to in service support.
 

Prepare and produce drawings throughout the design lifecycle, adhering to ISO standards and meeting time, cost, and quality requirements. Promote effective cooperation across Design and other functional teams. Prepare, produce, and maintain project documentation, including 'as built' and datum pack updates. Liaise with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure design coordination and functionality, contributing to design reviews. Develop innovative design solutions and address manufacturing and installation issues, assisting with Production and Technical Queries. Assist senior designers with estimates, quality improvement, and test form compilation, while staying updated on industry developments.

 
Essential experience of the Electrical Designer

Knowledge of CAD tools Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice

 
Qualifications of the Electrical Designer

ONC/HNC/HND (or equivalent) OR BTEC National Certificate/Diploma (or equivalent) OR appropriate apprenticeship of specialisation 

 
This role is full-time, 37-hours per week and includes hybrid, flexible working arrangements.
   
Security Clearance
