Hinkley Point ‘C’ (HPC) is a major infrastructure project encompassing the design, construction and commissioning of two European Pressure Reactors (EPR’s) in the South-West of England.
The Project is of significant importance to the UK’s future energy requirements, being the first to be built in the UK for over 25 years and is designed to operate for 60 years. When in operation it will deliver circa 3,260MW of secure low carbon energy to the UK energy network, which is enough energy to power approximately 6 million UK homes. The Project also represents a significant investment in the UK nuclear industry and the related technical supply chains.
The Electrical Commissioning Engineer will normally be aligned to either HV, LV, DC or generator systems but will be expected to work across all electrical disciplines at times during the contract period. This includes system voltages at 400kV, 10kV, 400VAC, 690VAC 220VDC and control voltages. The Engineer must be able to work with plans and meet tight deadlines.
