In this position... 
Are you an electrical engineer at the beginning of your career with passion for creating products for a better world? Do you enjoy staying on top of all the new technological developments? We are seeking forward-thinking professionals to join our team working on advanced electronic modules for next generation vehicles. The successful candidate will work alongside the Ford Electrical & Electronic HW Technical Specialists and with the design team to create innovative new electrical and electronics systems and products, and drive engineering excellence. 

You'll have... 
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field of study.
1+ years of experience in electronics circuits design, modeling, analysis, prototyping and testing, preferably in a high reliability industry (automotive, aero-space, medical, etc.).

Even better, you may have...
Excellent understanding of electronic circuits theory and principles.
Experience with CAD tools (e.g. Mentor Graphics, Cadence Design Systems, etc.)
Experience with circuit analysis software tools, e.g. Mathcad, and simulation tools: Spice, Saber, etc.
Good knowledgeable of electronics components: passives, semiconductors, microprocessors, power supplies, memories, drivers, and sensors.
Working knowledge of industry standard interfaces (e.g. I2C, SPI, Ethernet, LVDS, DDR, PCI, I2S, A2B, etc.)
Knowledge of vehicle communication busses: LIN, CAN, Ethernet.
Experience working with test equipment (e.g. programable power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, logic and network analyzers, temperature chambers, etc.)
Familiar with automotive reliability requirements, and component selection for automotive electronics.
Familiar with automotive EMC requirements and good design practices for EMC robust design.
Motivated and self-starter.

What you'll do...

Design products utilizing engineering principles.  Apply best practices, lessons learned and innovative design techniques to achieve a reliable product at a competitive cost. Strive to simplify the design, make it easy to manufacture, mistake proof, attempt to anticipate areas of large variation and attempt to maximize design robustness. Generate professional reports and make changes as necessary based on findings. Confer with other engineering team and cross functional team members on a frequent basis to ensure all aspects of the design are coming together seamlessly. Participate in technical design reviews to ensure compliance to design requirements. Generate, check and approve necessary engineering documentation required for material procurement and quality assurance of products designed (drawings - assembly and component, schematics, Bill(s) of Materials, specifications, DFMEA, etc.). Develop and/or co-develop engineering test fixtures that sufficiently evaluate products and their respective performance. Define HW bring up and functional test routines and test procedures required to verify the product intended functions. Participate in the building and construction of assemblies in prototype stages. Define test routines required to validate functional specifications. Document failure modes and feedback to improve design requirements.  Lead the resolution of functional abnormalities observed in module designs. Ensure Ford and industry lessons learned are documented in the associated quality history.
