Job purpose:

You will join our Energy Transition-design team of the Global Business Area Resilience in our Arcadis Iasi office. One of the most important clients for our team is ELIA as a Belgian transmission system operator for high-voltage electricity, located in Brussels, Belgium, operating in Belgium and Germany. Elia's main activities include managing grid infrastructure (maintaining and developing high-voltage installations), managing the electrical system (monitoring flows, maintaining the balance between electricity consumption and generation 24/7, importing and exporting to and from neighboring countries) and facilitating the market (developing services and mechanisms with a view to developing the electricity market at national and European level). They are committed to innovation and continuously improve their operational systems, proof being the integration of over 60% renewable energy safely into the grid as part of green energy transition.

The job purpose is to design the electrical drawings from the Substation Protection and Automation Systems (SPACS) and Telecommunication systems. You start from the customer's building blocks and customize them to the needs of the specific project. You work in close cooperation with the Belgian Lead Engineer and/or Project Manager. 

Your role will include, but is not limited to:

Work in a friendly and multidisciplinary environment within colleagues from other Arcadis offices. Design electrical drawings for SPACS and Telecommunication.  Prepare configuration for the SCADA system.  Check construction drawings from manufacturers.  Coordinate and perform quality control on the job done by the drafting team. Planning, coordination, and quality management.

Qualifications

Mandatory:

Bachelor’s Degree (Electrical Engineering). Professional experience in electrical design field. Strong English language skills. Technical and quality focus. Accuracy and a detailed focus.

Nice to have:

Ambition to learn new things. Knowledge of 2D detailing drawings (AutoCAD - preferred).
