You will be the Electrical Engineer for the Precision Fires program team. Our team is responsible for developing, testing, and integrating thermal batteries for military applications, driving innovation and excellence in our field.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in thermal battery development, testing, and integration. Your responsibilities will include:
• Providing technical expertise and guidance on thermal battery design, development, and testing
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain
• Performing failure analysis and developing recommendations for corrective actions
• Reviewing and approving engineering change requests, technical reports, and test procedures
• Evaluating supplier proposals and non-conformances, and providing recommendations for MRB dispositions
• Collaborating with suppliers on new thermal battery designs and communicating with government customers to understand requirements

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must have a Secret clearance with Investigation or CV date within 5 years prior to starting.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or Chemistry
• Minimum 4 years of experience in the design, development, and testing of thermal batteries
• In-depth knowledge of thermal battery chemistry, materials, design principles, production processes, and failure modes
• Experience with thermal battery testing and evaluation, including performance characterization and failure analysis
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop creative solutions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical data to internal and external stakeholders
• Proficient with Microsoft Office
Desired Skills:
• Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a relevant field
• 8+ years of experience in the thermal battery industry
• Experience with thermal battery modeling and simulation tools
• Experience with MATLAB tools for data analysis and visualization
• Knowledge of analytical equipment used in the evaluation of battery materials and failure investigations, including DSC, TGA, SEM/EDX, and Karl Fischer titration
• Knowledge of government regulations and standards related to thermal batteries, such as NAVSEA S9310, RCC 319, and MIL-DTL-23659
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
