Electrical Design/Project Engineer

Johnson Service Group (JSG), a nationally recognized recruiting firm, is assisting our global manufacturing client in finding an Electrical Design/Project Engineer near Albany, New York. This position will act as the technical lead during installation, testing, and commissioning of low voltage power distribution and delivery equipment.

Responsibilities: Act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments. Ensure the activities related to all engineering disciplines within the project are executed in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Collaborating on project installation, commissioning, and site activities, to clarify potential issues or provide solutions to rectify the engineering errors. Act as a design authority for a particular engineering discipline and completing the corresponding engineering assignments. Coaching project engineers and designers on the translation of conceptual designs to engineering documentation, including modelling, prototyping, and calculations. Leading, supervising, and coordinating teams (<10 members) in all engineering disciplines (both in-house and outsourced) on projects. Applying design thinking or design for excellence concepts in projects, including modelling, prototyping, simulation, and calculations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. Technical skills in the design and testing of power distribution and delivery to include MCC’s, VFD’s, Electrical Control and relay Panels, AC/DC Starters. Technical skills in testing, commissioning, startup and troubleshooting of Low voltage control systems and Programmable Logic controllers preferred.
