Job Description
We are currently seeking a full-time Electrical Engineer/Designer to be an integral member of our consulting team. The ideal candidate will be able to lead projects from start to finish, coordinate all electrical design requirements, complete electrical calculations, and prepare specifications. The role requires proficiency in overseeing Construction Administration duties, which include reviewing submittals, answering RFIs, conducting site visits, and handling punch lists. The candidate should also be capable of completing fieldwork for both Existing Condition Assessments and renovation projects. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, architects, and owners are essential.
ResponsibilitiesLead projects from start to finish, coordinating all electrical design requirements.Complete electrical calculations and prepare specifications.Oversee Construction Administration duties, including reviewing submittals, answering RFIs, conducting site visits, and handling punch lists.Perform fieldwork for Existing Condition Assessments and renovation projects.Communicate effectively with all team members, including engineers, architects, and owners.Essential SkillsProficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.4-8 years of consulting electrical engineering design experience, preferably with large institutional or commercial projects.A four-year electrical engineering degree from an accredited college or university, or an associate degree with 5+ years of experience.Working knowledge of Electrical codes such as NEC, IBC, IECC/ASHRAE 90.1, NFPA.Experience with lighting calculation software like VISUAL or AGi32.Additional Skills & QualificationsElectrical PE license in the Commonwealth of Virginia, or the ability to obtain it quickly through reciprocity.EIT certification level with the intention to obtain a PE license.Work Environment
The role requires working Monday through Friday for 40 hours a week. There is hybrid flexibility available once onboarding is complete and the candidate is up and running. The work environment is very relaxed and team-centered, with a strong focus on growth and development. Junior candidates will have the opportunity to be trained and developed by a team of licensed engineers. The team is known for expertise in large institutional and commercial projects, particularly in the greater Richmond area. There is a lot of flexibility for employees after they are onboarded.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $49.00/hr.
