Description

Position Title:             Electrical Designer (Commercial and Data Center experience)Reports to:                 Managing EngineerSalary: $125,000-140,000Position Summary: Engineer Level 3: Independently evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making adaptations and modifications. Assignments have clear and specified objectives. This level requires developmental experience in a professional position or equivalent graduate-level education. Receives instructions on specific assignment objectives, complex features, and possible solutions. Assistance is furnished on unusual problems. Work is reviewed for correctness and application of the QAQC Process and professional judgment. Includes responsibilities and tasks outlined in Engineer Levels 1 – 2.Supervisory Responsibilities:May supervise or coordinate the work of other designers and CAD/VDC production team.Essential Job Functions: Perform independent design and modeling of power and lighting systems for Commercial – Industrial – Data Center facilitiesPerform design tasks assigned by lead EngineersAssemble design drawings and documents and provide or coordinate deliveryUtilize software tools to perform broad range of engineering calculations and reportsPrepare and coordinates portions of design effort and project scope requirements

 

Other Functions: Increased interaction with Project manager, external design team and information managementMaintain professional and technical development goals to acquire PE certificationMentor DesignersObtain Professional Development and TrainingOther Responsibilities: Thorough understanding of the Engineering department's design and CAD/VDC workflows Thorough understanding of CEI's business inter-department functionsThorough proficient use of AutoCAD - MEP/REVIT, CAD and file managementThorough proficient understanding of fundamental power & lighting systemsThorough understanding of the various State and National CODES governing our workProvide Conformance to the Standards and processes outlined by the CAD/VDC ManagerSupport team and department objectives for individual and department development.Minimum Requirements: Electrical Engineering or similar Bachelor of Science degree 4-6 years working for an electrical design firm or design build electrical contractorBasic Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD - MEP/REVIT - Etap/SKM (desired)Good time management, communication and people skillsEngineer in Training (EIT) certified desiredApplicants must be authorized to work in the United States.  This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
