We specialize in the Design-Build method of construction resulting in fast-track delivery of the project improvements to our customers. We are one of the largest specialty contractors in the U.S. and the only one with all eight M.E.P (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Automation, Refrigeration, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) design and installation capabilities in-house. Job Summary
Shambaugh & Son is seeking an Electrical Designer to design electrical systems and assist department representatives, architects, engineers, and
consultants.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Design electrical systems with AutoCAD and Revit, based on established standards for products, components, and applications Assist Electrical Engineers with electrical design, Building Information Modeling (BIM), and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) Assist with department representatives, architects, engineers, and consultants to establish project requirements, and specifications Assist with the development and approval of engineering construction drawings Assist with preparation of project documentation Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies Other duties as assignedQualifications
Associate or bachelor’s degree in Design, Engineering, Construction Technology, or equivalent education and experience Experience working for a contractor on electrical systems design or in the field is a plus Ability to work both independently and in a team environment Small amount of travel is expected with this position as required for project design and execution Computer literate with MS Office product offerings including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit and Navisworks is a plus Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, in both written and oral work All applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States Valid driver’s license and good driving recordNotice to prospective employees: There have been fraudulent postings and emails regarding job openings.
