Job Title: Electrical Designer
Job Description

The Electrical Designer is responsible for creating electrical schematics, layouts, and assisting with the installation and commissioning of production equipment. You will perform design computations using your electrical drafting knowledge and develop safe electrical diagrams. Additionally, you will send schematics out for quotes at various suppliers for panel builds and may visit suppliers to conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT). You will be responsible for creating and maintaining a schematics library for all manufacturing equipment and work closely with Electricians, Maintenance, and within Process/Controls Engineering groups to ensure successful outcomes.

ResponsibilitiesCreate electrical schematics and layouts.Assist with the installation and commissioning of production equipment.Perform design computations using electrical drafting knowledge.Develop safe electrical diagrams.Send schematics out for quotes at various suppliers for panel builds.Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at supplier locations when necessary.Create and maintain a schematics library for all manufacturing equipment.Collaborate with Electricians, Maintenance, and Process/Controls Engineering groups to ensure successful outcomes.Essential SkillsProficiency in AutoCAD Electrical.Strong understanding of UL508A, NFPA 70E, and NEC code requirements.Good understanding of short circuit current rating.5+ years of experience in electrical drafting or a related field.Associate’s Degree in Electrical Drafting or a related field.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with industrial control panel design.Experience in electrical drafting and schematic creation.Work Environment

You will be working with a controls team consisting of 5-8 Engineers/Technicians. The primary focus will be on electrical designs and research on various designs, with minimal hands-on building of industrial panels unless assistance is needed. 90% of the machines are custom-built from the ground up. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $85000.00/yr.
