Job Title: Electrical Designer II

Job Description

We are a fast-growing engineering consulting group that expanded to Canada in 2014. Our Western Canadian Operations focus on electrical utility infrastructure. We are looking for an Electrical Designer II (Intermediate) to join our Stations Team. The ideal candidate is energetic, well-organized, and detail-oriented with a proven ability to meet deadlines. Key activities include preparing technical drawings, performing quality assurance functions, liaising with project stakeholders, and assisting with document management. This role is supported by a multidisciplinary team and is a full-time position operating on a hybrid schedule of three days in the office and two days at home.

ResponsibilitiesPrepare a variety of drafting and some intermediate design duties related to electrical substation / physical, protection, control, and SCADA designs.Perform self-checking and checking work of peers.Prepare design packages for review and submission.Manage drawing transmittals and drawing status database.Contribute to internal design and drafting processes and standards.Essential SkillsTechnology Diploma in Electrical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline, CAD or equivalent qualification.A minimum of 5 years of work experience with 3 years drafting experience preparing layout, schematic, wiring, and instrumentation OR civil/structural drawings.Extensive experience using AutoCAD 2D.Strong oral and written communication skills.Proficient using MS Office suite.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with BC Hydro standards.Experience in an engineering consulting/EPC environment.Experience with AutoCAD 3D, Autodesk Inventor, or MicroStation 2D.Previous experience in document control, including drawing management and maintaining revision tracking and deliverable transmittals.A valid Class 5 BC driver's license.Work Environment

This position is within an engineering consulting environment. The team is approximately 75 people and is continuing to grow. The work environment is typically quiet and focused. The position operates on a hybrid model.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $73000.00 - $93000.00/yr.
