Electrical Designer

The Electrical Designer will provide electrical design and engineering support for aircraft completions or kit development.

What you’ll be doing as a Electrical Designer

Designs new electrical interface procedures and creates detailed electrical interface drawings from rough sketches, hand drawings or previous CAD program drawings or manufacturers technical data for electrical installation of systems as part of STC kits and customized completions.May lead minor projects under supervision and assist with major projects.Revises electrical interface drawings of previously established kits or makes drawing revisions from ECRs and other requests accurately, neatly and timely.Follows established technical specifications to prepare drawings and assist in design drafting. Assists in researching product support questions.Must be familiar with advanced electrical design techniques and have had experience working with engineers and/or manufacturing personnel to develop and produce electrical or aeronautical drawings from which to build.Maintains effective working relationships with faculty members and research personnel (EA, Mfg., QC, etc.).Works under some limited supervision, relying on experience and judgment and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.Evaluate ECR’s and other requests to determine the appropriate actions required.

What you need to be successful

High School Diploma or Equivalent.Associate’s degree in Drafting and Design with electrical concentration or equivalent related work experience.Minimum of 4 years of electrical/engineering experience or equivalent.Advanced knowledge of Avionics systems and operation.Advanced experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft Suite.

Preferred Experience

Prior experience in aviation/rotorcraft experiencePrevious experience with FAA regulatory requirements

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods throughout the day.Ability to use a computer, including keyboard, mouse and standard office equipment.Able to climb in and on aircraft as required.
