Drive the electrical wiring system design based on functional requirements and electrical network architectures. Work with EDS and Subsystem engineers to establish harness partitioning and complexity strategies to minimize wire count, optimize harness cost, and weight impacts to vehicle line. Influence the design of grounding, and network topolgies.Investigate and introduce new harness technologies. Review, consume and maintain Device Transmittal information to ensure logical and physical harness designs meet component requirements. Develop vehicle logical and physical electrical schematics in ECAD working with hardware / software / architecture teams to find optimal and innovative solutions for wiring harness integration, own technical issues as they arise and drive them to resolution. Lead wire sizing and terminal selection activities based on the power profile of devices.Review schematics and 2D drawings to ensure supplier has all information required to manufacture our wiring harnesses. Support vehicle and Tier I assembly lines during the vehicle development phases for harness reviews, validate system level change implementation and drive issue resolution to ensure on-time deliveries. Collaborate with systems integration and test engineers to bring-up and troubleshoot electrical test assets such as breadboard or lab-car to validate electrical design functionality.
