The Position:
We are looking for a talented degree qualified electrical engineer with a passion for both electrical and software design.
In this position you will participate in projects as both project lead and team member, you will use our development facility to design and realise prototypes as you work from the inception stage right through to production.
You must be able to demonstrate a strong ability to design for manufacture and have a proven ability to problem solve, you will be able to develop solutions that meet stakeholder requirements and translate these into the production environment.
You will be working collaboratively with the growing team and our international production facilities, so it is essential that you have well developed communication and interpersonal skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with internal and external customers to build empathy, uncover opportunities and develop a deep understanding of the new product development landscape Design electrical prototypes, PCBs, Power circuits, Design and integrate electrical hardware for machinery control and data acquisition Create embedded firmware to drive bespoke control systems Capture knowledge in summarised or detailed technical reports, create and maintain active lines of internal communication and present technical recommendations to stakeholders. Develop and maintain CAD models, drawings, testing documentation, simulations and operating instructions Investigate opportunities for improvement through the Trimax continuous improvement system. Provide technical engineering guidance and training for production staff and manufacturing subcontractorsRole Requirements:
An appropriate Engineering degree or diploma At least 5 years experience in a similar role Sound understanding of integrated electronics manufacturing Experience designing extra low voltage (<100VDC) power electronics Experience with design software such as SolidEdge, Solidworks, Eagle, Altium or similar Proven ability to develop code in various languages ie C\C++, Arduino, Java Understanding of communication protocols such as CANbus, ISObus, Bluetooth, WIFI Demonstrate a “hands on” approach to building electrical prototypes or solving challenges in the field Excellent written and verbal communication skills Experience with MS Word and Excel
