Electrical Engineer
This program requires US Citizenship Level 1 Prepares field change documents and requests for information. Prepares cost estimates and reviews project design and engineering bill of materials to ensure their completeness. Initiates requisitions for field purchases. Prepares quantity takeoffs of field purchased material and equipment. Verifies commodities on quantity tracking systems or other computer database systems as required. Validates installation of materials through inspection / documentation. Verifies material quality, workmanship, and assures results meet quality requirements based on codes, specifications, and design drawings. Reviews project design and engineering documents, model, and model data to ensure their completeness and readiness for construction. Interfaces with construction engineers, discipline superintendents, foremen, and craft professionals in interpreting engineering design documents, vendor documents, and other technical documents. Utilizes and leverages applicable automation software and processes. Level 2 Reviews and/or leads, as assigned, the preparation of construction estimates, cost engineering studies, schedules, and budgets. Coordinates the interfaces between the construction automation plan and the project controls program on the jobsite. Analyzes assigned activities to determine the scope and assists superintendents or other project personnel with time and resource requirements. Education and Experience Requirements: Level 1: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience. Level 2: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience. Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug screen and background check, including verification of employment, education, and travel. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Candidate should be seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of area of specialization, resolves a wide range of issues in creative ways. Candidate should have working knowledge of design codes and standards including NFPA 70-2014 and NQA-1. Experience with DOE, DOD, and/or commercial nuclear construction projects is preferred. Knowledge of Bechtel’s “Zero Incidents” ES&H Program.
