Our firm is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer located in Los Angeles, CA, to support K-12 educational facility construction projects. This is a great opportunity to be part of one of the largest school bond programs in the country.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop an in-depth knowledge of the electrical contractual requirements for the project.
Ensure compliance with designs and controls of electrical systems in construction projects.
Finalize and approve preliminary designs and drawings submitted by lower-level electrical engineers for projects that involve major alterations to electrical systems.
Ensure compliance with LA Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) and other public agencies and utility companies for details related to electrical engineering projects.
Conduct site visits and oversee the installation, testing and operations in the construction project to ensure adherence to approved electrical drawings, specifications and code.
Analyze electrical system requirements, capacity, cost, and project needs and then develop a system and budget plan.
Develop and monitor maintenance, testing procedures and quality assurance and enforce safety regulations for electrical and electronic components and equipment.
Summarize and present data and report on test results to the Supervising Electrical Engineer and upper management.
Inspect electrical and electronic equipment, instruments, and systems to make sure they meet safety standards and applicable regulations.
Evaluate systems and recommend repair or design modifications or correct deficiencies and resolve issues during construction; evaluate cost proposals and contractors’ requests for adjustments; provide evaluations to supervisor.
Plan and develop applications and modifications for electrical and electronic components used in parts and systems to improve technical performance.
Oversee site work elements within the discipline and provide early notification of potential schedule slippages caused by the electrical construction activities.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Experience:
Education: Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
Experience: Six (6) years of electrical engineering experience in public agency, school construction or large capital commercial projects.
Required Certification: A valid Certificate of Registration as a Professional Engineer in Electrical Engineering issued by the California State Board of Registration of Civil and Professional Engineers.
