Job Description
Responsible for releasing hardware and software design solutions for electronic components in vehicle functions, body controls, and body builder specific functions applicable for North American truck products. Collaborate with global technology development teams, track platform development progress, and engage in discussions with Tier-1 suppliers of components. Follow level 4 time plan activities and milestones.
ResponsibilitiesRelease hardware and software design solutions for electronic components in vehicle functions and body controls.Collaborate with global technology development teams to track platform development progress.Engage in discussions with Tier-1 suppliers of components.Follow level 4 time plan activities and milestones.Work with component installations for Body ECUs as needed.Collaborate with the truck integration team to solve issues arising from component integration.Respond to defect reports and follow the defect report process for resolution.Document software configurations for various variant combinations; ESW software release process is mandatory.Work with diagnostic tools, analyze log files, and perform troubleshooting.Download software using factory engineering service tools.Perform minimum smoke tests on the bench before delivering to integration teams.Participate in PI planning, breakdown features into stories and tasks, and follow up through sprints.Work on trucks as needed to debug and troubleshoot issues.Essential SkillsElectrical Engineering ExperienceExperience in hardware and software design.Proficiency in schematic design.Strong troubleshooting skills.Ability to analyze log files.Experience with factory engineering service tools.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience working with vehicle functions and body controls.Capability to work with global technology development teams.Experience tracking platform development progress.Strong communication skills for engaging with Tier-1 suppliers.Work Environment
Collaborative work environment involving global technology development teams and Tier-1 suppliers. Work may involve hands-on tasks with trucks for debugging and troubleshooting. Standard office hours with occasional need for on-site work with vehicles. Usage of factory engineering service tools and diagnostic tools for software downloads and troubleshooting.
