What You’ll Do                                                              

As the Electrical Engineer, you will lead the electrical engineering function for the site through collaboration between the Strategic Engineering specialist resources and the operations teams. Institute effective reliability and process safety improvement agendas for all critical E/I assets. Other duties include:

Demonstrate and/or lead the commmitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety. Ensure compliance with applicable company HSE Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts and regulations. Maintain and execute the facility 5 year electrical infrastructure plan Support the plant instrumentation and control programs as needed Develop, manage, and update the Arc Flash Program Manage the breaker and starter reliability program, transformer reliability program, and the electric motor reliability program.  Complete equipment failure investigations using root cause analysis techniques. Conduct engineering statistical reliability studies from the risk assessments, criticality data, corrective maintenance history and failure history. Assure compliance to relevant external statutory regulation and internal plant and engineering standards and communicating such requirements to the relevant stakeholders. Ensure application of Company Management of Change policies and standards. Continuous update and electrical items in the operational risk registers.  Implement effective controls and improvement actions (elimination/reduction). Collaboration with Operations, Turnaround and Project functions in effective identification & scoping of requirements. Execution of technical R&I role during turnarounds. Support tactical response to address equipment deficiencies in an effective & timely manner during turnarounds.

 

What We’re Looking For

B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering Experience in petro-chemical manufacturing plant, pulp and paper, power generation, or similar heavy industry environment preferred. Knowledge in power electronics, relay coordination, and power distribution preferred. Working knowledge of NFPA; National Electric code; IEEE Working knowledge of PLCs, DCS, communication networks, process instruments, and other process control systems Experience participating in Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) such as Hazard and Operability (HAZOP) methodology, and experience using a risk ranking matrix Strong written and oral communication, writing, and presentation skills Familiarity with manufacturing excellence models, systems, and processes relating to asset capability and reliability. Experienced in risk identification, analysis and mitigation strategies. Competent in the various methods of Root Cause Failure Analysis. Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
