Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Testing and Commissioning)

Job Description:
As an Electrical Engineer focused on substation maintenance, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment within the organization. Your role will involve frequent inspections, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrade of electrical systems to ensure uninterrupted power supply and optimal performance. You will work closely with the maintenance team and collaborate on projects to improve the reliability and efficiency of electrical systems.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems, including generators, motors, transformers, switchgear, and control systems.
2. Identify potential issues or malfunctions and perform troubleshooting and diagnostics to determine the root cause.
3. Carry out repairs, replacements, or upgrades to electrical components and equipment, while adhering to safety procedures and best practices.
4. Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
5. Collaborate with the maintenance team to plan and execute major maintenance projects, including shutdowns, overhauls, and retrofits.
6. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment history, and inventory.
7. Stay updated with the latest industry trends, codes, and regulations related to electrical systems and ensure compliance.
8. Provide technical support and guidance to other maintenance staff and assist in training programs as applicable.
9. Liaise with external contractors, suppliers, and vendors for specialized repairs, equipment procurement, or service agreements.
10. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and suggest innovative ideas to enhance the reliability and performance of electrical systems.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
2. Professional engineering license or eligibility to obtain one.
3. Proven experience in electrical system maintenance, preferably within an industrial or manufacturing environment.
4. In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
5. Proficient in using diagnostic tools, meters, and instrumentation for troubleshooting electrical systems.
6. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve complex issues.
7. Excellent communication skills to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
8. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
9. Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
10. Strong commitment to safety and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
