Job Description
We are looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to contribute to our power distribution projects for industrial and commercial clientele on a full-time, direct basis at our office in Newark, DE. Flexibility to sit in Philadelphia as a last resort. Some hybrid flexibility is also available. Project types are primarily industrial, including sectors such as pharmaceuticals and chemicals. This role requires a technically focused Electrical Engineer to assist with production and lead the design floor.
ResponsibilitiesDesign industrial and commercial electrical power distribution systems and equipment (up to 35kV/35,000 volts).Prepare electrical single-line diagrams, electrical arrangement, and circuit drawings using knowledge and experience of relevant equipment (such as motors, motor starters and disconnects, transformers, MCCs, VFDs, etc.).Ensure work compliance with NEC standards.Additional tasks may be assigned as needed.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.4+ years of professional experience.Proficiency with engineering tools like AutoCAD.Microstation and Revit proficiency is a plus.Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with industrial projects, particularly in the pharmaceutical and chemical sectors.Strong understanding of electrical systems and power distribution.Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.Work Environment
Open floor space environment with areas of 4 desks with dividers. The team is very collaborative and supportive, with approximately 20 colleagues. Flexible working hours are allowed as long as 8 hours are completed between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m., with attendance required during most prime hours. The dress code is business casual. The MEP division consists of 30 people, including 8-10 engineers and the rest are designers.
