Job Description

AECOM has an opening for an experienced Electrical Engineer to be based in Orange, CA; Denver, CO; Columbus, OH or Cleveland, OH. 

The Electrical Engineer will join a multidisciplinary, collaborative team with a range of expertise supporting the expansion of their knowledge base with the ability to travel and gain field experience.

As part of our team, you will support a diverse tapestry of work across markets like Commercial, Federal (Military/DoD), Healthcare, Higher Education, Sports + Rec and Science + Tech markets, including landmark projects in the industry. You will have opportunities to take on complex challenges and pioneer innovative solutions from strategy and design through project realization.

Job Summary/Responsibilities

Electrical engineering support from conceptual design through construction administration and post-occupancyPerforms specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer.Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.Support in the review of shop drawings during the construction administration phasePrepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aidsWrite reports and memos for internal and external purposes based on findingsWorks cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve company's missionEnsures discipline plans that are created meet overall project team requirements for project scope, quality and scheduleStays current on codes and technologies appropriate to the electrical disciplinesSupport on site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of electrical systems, equipment, components and materials for projects Develops designs within a BIM design environmentCompletes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS in Electrical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or similar +2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelors degree from an ABET accredited University and has passed the fundamentals of Engineering Exam (EIT/FE)Experience with Revit and AutoCAD based design projects3+ years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting or design-build firmStrong communication skills: articulate, assertive, and confidentCreative thinker with effective teamwork skillsDesire to be mentored by leadership.Experience with sustainable designStrong attention to detail and accuracy/quality of work.Proficient in the use of drafting software including Revit and AutoCADCapable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard Microsoft software.Ability to work with and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team
