Electrical Engineer

As an Electrical Engineer you will work with multiple teams within the Engineering Group to provide products to advanced power plant designs including Small Modular Reactors and Generation IV nuclear power plants, as well as existing power plants with decades of experience, in both domestic and international markets. In this role, you will perform a wide variety of tasks including the design, development, and verification testing of electro-mechanical components and systems, troubleshooting, hardware/software interface configuration, testing, and documentation. You will be working with minimal supervision, following established operating procedures, or creating new ones when necessary, and being able to provide creative solutions that fit the tasks at hand.

Location: Brea, CA

Salary: $82,200 - $130,000

Your Challenge:

Support new product development and upgrade of existing products: developing circuitry for electric motors, exciters, sensors, and transformers; Create wiring diagrams and electric schematics for various products; Provide technical support for existing designs. 

​Translate product level requirements into implementable circuits by working with Design Engineering, and Project Engineering to develop electrical solutions to project requirements.

Define potential electrical implementation solutions and discuss tradeoffs.

Transition designs to manufacturing: Provide complete design packages to enable production build; Support factory with problem resolution and test support when required; Oversee the building, installation, debugging, and testing of new equipment to ensure production capabilities.

Determines technical objectives and develops innovative, practical solutions to advance technical engineering problems. Acts as technical expert for failure investigations, root cause analyses, and design reviews.

Design and conduct experiments, collect data, and interpret results.

 Conduct analyses and create reports of in relevant areas using engineering expertise.

Drive for solutions in the face of ambiguity.

Determine theoretical principles involved and applying advanced analytical and investigative methods and techniques.

What You Bring:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.

Minimum of 3 years of experience in an electric or electro-mechanical design environment.

Knowledge of electric motors, and their selection.

Knowledge of power circuits and power electronics.

Knowledge of data acquisition system design and implementation.

Knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and their programming.

Familiarity with electronic boards and their design process.

Excellent analysis and decision-making skills.

Excellent verbal, written, and diagrammatic communications skills.

Attentive to detail while maintaining proper perspective.
