This position is part of our Advanced Safety and User Experience segment (AS&UX)

Summary:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Electrical Design Project Engineer with our Advanced Safety & User Experience division in Carmel, IN (relocation offered within the USA).   This role is primarily responsible for the Electrical Hardware design of Perception Systems including Radar and Computer Vision for Active Safety electronics products in Automotive applications.

Responsibilities:

Work independently on design tasks to lead the electrical hardware designDesign Safety Electronics Electrical Hardware ProductsReview customer specificationsMicroprocessor and DSP Digital Core, high speed memory and video signals, analog and digital control logic, linear and switching power suppliesPerform worst case analysis and simulations to ensure compliance to customer requirementsSupport product design reviewsCreate and maintain schematic and assembly drawings and release with the change managementDevelop and maintain electrical DFMEAGenerate electrical information to ECAD for PCB layout and support ECAD designerSupport hardware prototype buildsCreate product verification plan and perform testingSupport EMC and validation testingUtilize structured problem solving techniques for test failure resolutionPresent product design, analysis and testing to customer

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology Familiarity with Power Supply design principlesFamiliar with PCB construction and fabricationLab equipment experience with power supplies, oscilloscopes function generators and multimetersFamiliar with or experience using basic structured problem solving techniquesExperience using simulation for circuit analysisExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong work ethic to support Product team design efforts and timing

Preferred Qualifications

3 + years’ experience in electrical product design from requirements analysis thru product launchFamiliarity with automotive environmental and electrical design and test standardsExperience designing for, troubleshooting, and testing EMC complianceFamiliar with Mentor Graphics DxDesigner schematic and Expedition layout toolsExperience creating multilayer PCB layouts, stackups, and fabricationExperience with MathCad, Maple, or equivalent software and circuit simulation toolsExperience with or course work on RF theory, microcontrollers, and high speed circuit designExperience leading a design project from concept through production launchAbility to multitask across various project activitiesAbility to work with a global program team
