Your OpportunityWe are looking for an Electrical Engineer to provide comprehensive capabilities including energy engineering and performance engineering services for both public and private sector clients. Focused on providing cost-effective solutions to engineering challenges, this role will lead/participate in a diverse range of projects from the initial planning stages to design, construction, and commissioning. Your Key Responsibilities Lead the engineering & design of power, lighting, IT, security and emergency or redundant electrical systems for new and renovated buildings. Lead engineering designs including the drafting of drawings using AutoCAD or Revit, Lead the performance of code reviews, preparation of the basis of design, system calculations, specification preparation, field investigations, construction estimating, and site inspections and other such design as required to execute the electrical construction for new or renovated buildings. Some travel to site locations or other Stantec offices may be required. Interact with owners, contractors, permitting and planning authorities and professional organizations to deliver projects, strengthen relationships and advance your career. Perform construction administration duties such as shop drawing review and construction observation. Your Capabilities and Credentials Possess knowledge of the National Electrical Code and other applicable Industry standards and Electrical Engineering design principles. Demonstrated ability to lead a project from pursuit to closeout phase. Career experience with leading the electrical design for projects including the working closely with electrical designer technicians and electrical CAD drafters to complete the electrical designs in time and on budget. Possess a working knowledge of AutoCad and Revit. Career experience with lighting calculation software (Visual, or similar), power system analysis software (SKM), and MS Office (or similar program). Career experience with construction documents and construction administration is required. Experience with designing low voltage systems such as fire alarm, security, CCTV, and card access a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills with team members and clients Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in building design practice preferred.
