Head of Electrical Converter Engineering

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be part of our globally operating, interdisciplinary Engineering team, which plays a key role in customer projects from order receipt to successful delivery. We specialize in engineering medium voltage drives for a wide range of applications in the growing system drives market, as well as converters for wind turbines.To strengthen our team, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer with at experience in medium voltage technology, combined with a strong sense of initiative and ownership. Join us and be part of our ambitious journey!The working model for this role is hybrid. #LI-hybridThis role contributes to the System Drives division in Switzerland.You will be mainly accountable for:•\tPlanning and designing hardware and software for medium-voltage drives and creating the associated technical documentation (E-CAD).•\tParticipating in the calculation and design, as well as the production and testing within joint projects.•\tProviding technical support to the project manager and the sales team—including during customer presentations or negotiations—and supporting colleagues during commissioning and troubleshooting (up to 5% travel required).•\tPreparing and driving continuous product improvements and contributing to process optimization in the technical environment.

Qualifications for the role

You have a higher qualification (HF/FH) in electrical engineering or system technology, ideally with a focus on power electronics, drive technology, or similar.You possess proven skills in reading, understanding, and designing electrical circuit diagrams.You have ideally two or more years of experience in plant construction, such as through an apprenticeship in a technical field or an internship in the industry.You possess strong social and communication skills with a pronounced customer orientation.You are a team player with robust communication abilities and a passion for innovation and continuous improvement.You have solid knowledge of both the German and English languages.You can demonstrate proficiency in advanced programming languages such as C++ or MATLAB/Simulink.You hold current work permit valid in Switzerland (EU/EFTA countries).
