Electrical Engineer I/II/III

The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs. + Flight Electrical Power Systems, Pyrotechnics, Flight Terminations systems, and Range Safety Control Systems engineering team. + Interpret complex drawings, specifications, and requirements into work instructions for the assembly, test and launch of the Space Launch Systems. + Develop ground application software that will be used in the test and launch of the Space Launch System. + Serve as focal point along with teammates for day-to-day vehicle testing as well as launch operations from the launch control center. + Evaluate and resolve non-conformances. + Lead teams of technicians in carrying out work instruction during vehicle integration and test. + Work closely with customer, design centers and OEMs to meet major milestones. + Train in launch countdown simulations for launch team training readiness. BS degree in Electrical, Physics, Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Technology from an accredited engineering school. Additional relevant education may be substituted for a portion of the experience. **Depending on the candidate’s experience,** **requirements, and business needs, we reserve the right to consider candidates at any level for which this position has been advertised.** •Perform engineering tasks in support of the Flight Electrical Power, Pyrotechnics and Flight Termination engineering group. •Candidate will support preparations for assembly, test, processing, and launch of NASA's Space Launch System and Orion spacecraft. •Initial assignments will focus on development of the ground application software used during ground processing and vehicle launch as well as developing Work Authorization Documents to process, test and launch the SLS Rocket and Orion Spacecraft. •Candidates will be required to develop and apply knowledge of technical principles, vehicle processing operations concepts, ground to vehicle interfaces, and vehicle/ground system design and operation.
