We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer, Power Electronics as part of product engineering organization in the plant. The candidate will work with multi-disciplinary teams to drive product/specification related investigations to resolution for the products in production. The Role:
o Responsible for design intent assembly requirements of power electronics components used in electric powertrain.
o Data driven proactive problem solving & issue avoidance due to process deviations or critical part quality issues.
o Troubleshoot all HV System electrical issues which includes BMS hardware, Inverter PCBAs, HV Junction box, & associated electrical hardware.
o Drive product issue investigations at the factory to resolution by effective change management where practical
o Provide design for manufacturability & serviceability feedback in future product development processes. o Drive risk-assessments from product perspective on process/part deviations
Qualifications:
o Solid background in power electronics components and circuits
o Good understanding of analog and digital electronics circuits
o Hands-on hardware experience in electronics design for high-voltage and high-power applications
o Familiar with lab equipment (Oscilloscopes, Signal Generators, Probe, Power Analyzer etc.)
o Familiar with electromagnetic compatibility, Power Electronics functionality tests etc
o Well versed in power conversion topologies for DC/AC and AC/DC converters
o Excellent in data analysis using statistics Minitab or JMP, Python, MATLAB
o Familiar DFMEA, PFMEA, DVP&R, DFM, & RCA with cross-functional teams
o Travel is required between the factory in Casa Grande, AZ and Engineering HQ in Newark, CA on as needed basis
o Exceptional communication and documentation skills are required.
Preferred:
o Prior experience on automotive power electronics hardware
o Product development experience on power electronics products
Education:
o BS degree in Electrical Engineering with 4+ years of experience in electrical/embedded design, product problem solving, & testing
o MS degree in Electrical Engineering with 2+ years of experience electrical/embedded design, product problem solving, & testing
