Electrical Engineer II

The Electrical Engineer II for Large Industrial Generators is responsible for providing electrical engineering solutions to the product development projects assigned to them including interfacing with the cross functional team consisting of engineering, operations (industrial engineering, production, and material procurement, sourcing) quality, service, and marketing. **MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:** + Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. + 2 or more years of relevant work experience. **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** + Experience using AutoCAD or other 2D modeling software for the development of wiring diagrams and harness drawings + Experience with 3D modeling using Creo, SolidWorks, or other parametric modeling software + Experience in new product design and development + Experience with engines, alternators, electrical components, and electrical harness development + Experience using Windchill PLM, SAP, or other ERP systems to manage component change and release + Experience with NEC, CSA, or UL compliance standards **ESSENTIAL DUTIES:** + Designs, validates, and brings new products to market. + Provide new product development in the Industrial product area including; Creating and maintaining CAD models, drawings, and BOMs. Supporting product development plans (schedule, product cost, meeting design inputs), Interfacing with internal company personnel, provide technical support for assigned projects. + Specifies product requirements; designs, tests and integrates moderately complex components to produce final designs; and evaluates the design's overall effectiveness, cost (including cost/benefit analysis), reliability (risk analysis), and safety. + Designs and develops product specifications and process validation plans for a variety of standard products and/or components; creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials. + Collaborates with internal/external manufacturing partners, component manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize complex designs for manufacturability. Works with internal/external compliance teams during the evaluation period of product design. + Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) systems to create/model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:** + Ability to manage and prioritize workload + Ability to work independently and as part of a team + Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy + Demonstrated written communication and presentation skills + Ability to translate technical information to all audiences + Able to solve moderate to complex engineering problems + Strong organization skills + Technical Skills to include 2D drawing and 3D modeling experience (AutoCAD/Creo or SolidWorks) + Competent in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook **Physical Demands** : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 - 50 pounds. Specific conditions of this job are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus.
