Job Description
The Electrical Engineer III plays a key role in the successful execution of projects from start to finish for our MCM group. This individual will provide technical and engineering excellence, as well as successful delivery of work to our customers. The Electrical Engineer III is responsible for a high level of customer satisfaction by ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and managed – both externally and internally. The successful candidate will also contribute to a dynamic team environment by being proactive, communicating clearly to all stakeholders, and modeling a highly collaborative working environment. This person will also actively support the business development process, through the writing of proposals and meeting with prospective and current customers. This Electrical Engineer III will be self-directed but thrive in an environment where consultation leads to superior differentiators. The successful candidate will have a pragmatic and applied approach, while at the same time bringing a creative examination of customer needs and solutions.
ResponsibilitiesAssist with the design of power distribution systems, size motor feeders, and starters.Support the design of building power and lighting systems, including special systems such as ground fault, lightning protection, emergency generator, and UPS.Prepare engineering documents and equipment specifications to meet contracted scope of work and ensure application of Electrical Engineering Principles.Perform voltage drop, short-circuit calculations, and arc fault analysis.Coordinate work with other departments, project team members, and contractors.Engage in other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.Minimum of 8 years' electrical engineering experience post-graduation.Professional Engineering (PE) certification or willingness to pursue.Proven experience in electrical design for building projects.Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.Strong electrical design expertise across various industries and processes.Comprehensive understanding of Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, and Structural Engineering construction practices.In-depth knowledge of industry codes and standards such as NEC, NFPA, NESC, ANSI/IEEE.Experience in infrastructure design for healthcare facilities, familiarity with FGI guidelines and NFPA 99.Additional Skills & QualificationsDemonstrated leadership and ability to influence stakeholders.Proven ability to build strong client relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective interaction with Designers, Engineers, and Project Managers.Ability to establish rapport and credibility with customers and other stakeholders.Supervisory or people-management experience.Effective meeting management skills.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Adaptable and agile, responsive to quick changes in direction.Knowledge of computer technology and specific areas of application, including MS Office.Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically.Work Environment
Some work locations will feature the tough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment. The role demands accountability, persistence in achieving goals, and a sense of urgency. The environment encourages agility, adaptability to changes, and effective project execution under pressure. Communication is key, requiring adaptability based on audience and situation, and the ability to inspire respect while balancing team and individual responsibilities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $105000.00 - $145000.00/yr.
