Job Description:

Determine design approaches and parametersPerform system analysis to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraintsUtilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate resultsSelect components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliabilityPerform simulations and present design reviews to peer engineersWrite scripts to control synthesis and build tools

Digital/FPGA Engineering

Design, analyze, modify, test and evaluate FPGA and programmable hardwareDesign complex Circuit Card Assemblies to support telemetry, RF, and encryption products for airborne systems.Digital Design requires programmable logic, VHDL language and digital communications systems knowledgeDSP design positions require knowledge of digital signal processing techniques, algorithm development, software coding and simulation/modeling using MATLABPerform schematic capture using ORCAD Cadence toolsPerform Signal Integrity Analysis using HyperLynx Xpedition toolsMicroelectronics Design requires training in advanced electronics packaging and MEMS technologyExperience with high density interconnect and semiconductor packaging technology is desiredDetermine design approaches and parametersPerform system analysis to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraintsUtilize modeling tools and equipment to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate resultsSelect components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliabilityPerform simulations and present design reviews to peer engineersAbility to write scripts to control synthesis and build tool

Qualifications:

Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree or graduate program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science Engineering or related field

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge and/or experience with FPGA, VHDL, Verilog, C/C++, DSP, MATLAB, Power, Analog,  or the Aerospace industry Knowledge of any of the following software tools: Vivado (Xilinx), ISE (Xilinx), Quartus (Altera/Intel), Libero(Microchip), Modelsim, ORCAD (Cadence), PADS (Xpedition/Siemens), HyperLynx (Xpedition/Siemens), LTspice (Analog Devices), Tina TI (Texas Instruments), Saturn PCB Toolkit, RidleyWorks (Ridley Engineering)Excellent communication, technical writing and presentation skillsKnowledge of and/or understanding circuit analysis and operational conceptsExperience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and various probe types, power supplies, digital multimeters (DMMs), function generators, frequency response analyzers (network, impedance, spectrum), temperature chambersFamiliarity with power and EMI requirements from military standards MIL-STD-704 and MIL-STD-461Familiarity with non-isolated and isolated power converter topologies such as buck, boost, buck-boost, and flyback.
