As a Electrical Engineer for Power Electronics at Generac Power Systems, you will play a crucial role in designing and implementing electrical systems for our power electronics solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that our products adhere to industry standards, including a deep understanding of the NEC code. You will also be responsible for integrating power line communication systems and managing the thermal performance of outdoor electrical equipment panels.
Responsibilities:
Lead the design and development of electrical systems for power electronics products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, with a strong focus on the NEC code.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product requirements, create electrical schematics, and oversee PCB layout design.
Integrate power line communication systems into power electronics products, enabling efficient communication and control capabilities.
Manage thermal performance and thermal management solutions for outdoor electrical equipment panels to ensure optimal operating conditions in various environmental settings.
Conduct electrical simulations and analysis to evaluate system performance and identify potential areas for improvement.
Oversee prototype testing, troubleshooting, and validation, making necessary design adjustments to meet performance and safety requirements.
Provide technical expertise, guidance, and mentorship to junior engineers on electrical design and compliance matters.
Stay up to date with evolving industry standards, regulations, and best practices related to power electronics and electrical systems.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of > 3 years of experience in electrical engineering with a focus on power electronics.
Strong knowledge of the NEC code and its application to electrical system design.
Experience with power line communication systems and their integration into electrical systems.
Expertise in thermal management solutions for outdoor electrical equipment panels.
Proficiency in electrical design software and simulation tools.
Demonstrated experience in creating electrical schematics, PCB layout design, and system integration.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve electrical design issues.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
