Axient is seeking several Electrical Engineers (Robotics) to support the development, design, test, and manufacturing of electronic Motion Control products and systems. These positions are primarily located in Altadena, CA, with additional locations in Boulder, CO or Hyattsville, MD areas.  Given that these are collaborative, laboratory-based roles, remote or hybrid is not an option. 

What you will do...

Support a multi-disciplinary project team collaborating on multi-board designs through development, and eventually transitioning a flight-ready product to the manufacturing and test engineering teams. 

Embedded system design, including: Schematic Capture and PCB Layout, Digital, Analog, and Mixed Signal DesignBoard-level communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN)Controlled impedance for high-speed channel design (SpaceWire, 10GbE, SerDes)Linear and Switch Mode DC/DC Power ConversionDocumentation (Test Procedures & Reports, Interface Control Documents, ECOs)Design Analysis and Simulation (WCA/WCCA, Reliability, Radiation, Spice)Cable and Wire Harness DesignSignal and Power Integrity (SI/PI)Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Skills you will need...

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited technical college or university in Electrical or Computer Engineering and 3+ years of relevant work experienceEligibility for clearance and/or access in this instance requires US citizenshipExperience with embedded system design, including: Schematic Capture and PCB Layout, Digital, Analog, and Mixed Signal DesignBoard-level communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN)Controlled impedance for high-speed channel design (SpaceWire, 10GbE, SerDes)Linear and Switch Mode DC/DC Power ConversionDocumentation (Test Procedures & Reports, Interface Control Documents, ECOs)Design Analysis and Simulation (WCA/WCCA, Reliability, Radiation, Spice)Cable and Wire Harness DesignSignal and Power Integrity (SI/PI)Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)Extensive experience in prototype development, debug, and test in a lab environmentDemonstrable experience designing and launching products in regulated environments

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience designing motion control and electromechanical systems for harsh space environmentsEEE-INST-002 and radiation-hardness/mitigationFailure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)Generation of technical proposal content and labor/cost estimationAltium DesignerBS degree in STEM

Familiarity with:

DSP and Microcontroller firmware development in CFPGA Design (Verilog and VHDL)System and functional requirements generation
