Reporting to the Principal Electrical Engineer, the student will learn effective brainstorming, design for manufacturing, prototyping, and documentation as they apply their engineering knowledge to real world problems. A motivated student will thrive in Farm’s fast-paced environment as they participate in all aspects of the design process.

What a typical day looks like:
Work on a variety of products ranging from home health wearables to next generation therapy systems to surgical robotics. Collaborate with industrial design, user interface, human factors, software, and mechanical teams to help produce successful product designs. Participate in multidisciplinary brainstorming sessions, conceptualize, investigate, and develop innovative product architectures, parts, mechanisms, and assemblies. Create and support design solutions using CAD, analysis software, and lab equipment. Procure, assemble, and test breadboards and prototypes to inform and refine designs as well as measure and demonstrate design performance. Communicate design value, tradeoffs, and recommendations to internal teams and clients. Develop a personal portfolio of work that is accomplished during the Co-Op assignment.Student qualities we’re seeking for this Co-Op assignment:
Junior or Senior undergrad student pursuing Electrical/ & Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering Technology or related majorHands-on electromechanical skills; wiring, soldering, troubleshootingFundamental understanding of electronics and physics, basic circuit design skills, ability to read and understand a schematic, electrical build experience, ability to carry out laboratory experiments, document and communicate results.Highly collaborative team attitude, passion to learn, contribute, and take on challengesPrevious co-op or internship experience highly preferredBasic programming skills and ability to create a schematic and simple PCB layouts - a plus!Co-Op Program Requirements:
