We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Department Manager to lead, mentor, and inspire our talented team of electrical engineers, designers, and support staff. This role offers a unique opportunity to directly impact the success of mission-critical projects for leading high-tech clients. You will be instrumental in developing and implementing advanced electrical systems, instrumentation & controls, life safety, telecommunication, and fire suppression systems for state-of-the-art facilities. This position will be a hybrid position, requiring occasional onsite work. Fully remote or travel work arrangements for this role are not available. Responsibilities Provide technical leadership and direction on complex electrical engineering projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes, and client specifications.Oversee the design, implementation, and engineering of active electrical engineering projects, ensuring successful completion within budget and schedule.Conduct detailed reviews of electrical designs, specifications, and calculations, ensuring accuracy and constructability.Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, resolving complex engineering challenges.Lead, manage, coach, and mentor the Electrical Department staff, focusing on employee growth, project success, and overall performance.Implement and manage numerous projects—including greenfield, brownfield, and conversion projects—through all project design phases, meeting financial objectives and deliverables.Champion, mentor, and coach the development of the staff, elevating the technical and professional expertise of the team.Identify strengths and weaknesses of department personnel to prioritize training needs and develop/implement a comprehensive training program, including continuing education and certification support.Facilitate and supervise evaluation and employee relations duties, such as workforce planning/staffing, hiring, career development, advancement, and performance management.Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA, and local regulations.Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for electrical systems design and construction.Develop and implement strategic plans for the Electrical Department, aligning with overall company objectives and market trends in high-tech manufacturing.Assist upper-level management in articulating discipline capability requirements in support of strategic and business objectives.Actively participate in business development activities, including client presentations, proposal development, and technical presentations. Qualifications A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or an equivalent engineering degree with relevant experience).At least three years of experience managing people, along with a proven track record of organizational and employee development.An active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of practice or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of employment is highly desirable.Knowledge and experience of electrical engineering principles, and/or facilities design engineering within an industrial, semiconductor, chemical, or related industries.Demonstrated skill in multidisciplinary coordination and collaboration, strong organization and communication skills, and highly responsive.Salary Range: $125,000 - $170,000+/year depending on location, education, experience, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.Benefits include health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401K retirement savings plan (with company matching), opportunities for professional development and training, generous PTO & paid holidays.
