Summary

This position is intended to be a jointly beneficial learning opportunity.  Significant interaction with an Engineering Mentor and the Engineering Manager is expected. This role is for an Electrical Design Engineer Intern to develop and implement control hardware, Wiring and

Control systems for mobile hydraulic equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Electrical system designSchematic creation and maintenance3D conductor routing and CAD modelingCreation of harness and pinout drawingsElectrical component sizing, specification, and selectionTroubleshooting electrical issues on a range of productsProviding guidance to shop floor on new installationsDeep understanding of Bill of Material (BOM) structuresCreate detail drawings of 3D models (SolidWorks)Assist technical publications in creation of manuals (parts books, service manuals, operator manuals)

Required Skills and Qualifications

Qualifications include:

Pursuit of Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Electronics EngineeringOther related experienceProficient in engineering design software – 3D and 2D (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred).

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

Knowledge of controls programmingKnowledge and experience with CAN bussExperience with SolidWorks CAD softwareExperience with SolidWorks Electrical RoutingDesign software – 2D (AutoCAD preferred)

Working Conditions

This job will be performed in an office setting. Operation and review of construction equipment may be occasionally required.  Proper training will be provided prior to operation if necessary.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit in an office setting and perform computer work.Ability to walk shop floor with workers and see issues firsthand.
